Under the new municipal administration initiative of Shenzhen, the landscape in Longgan around the exits of Line 14 of the Shenzhen Metro will present the unique character of Longgang: Relying on the existing public green spaces along the metro line, the landscape around the exits emphasizes natural experience and accessible connections with the slow walkways in adjacent green space. The landscape of the exits is made into a green and sustainable ecological gateway, highlighting a healthy and livable city style. These “slow” pleasant spaces and accessibility functions in the efficiency-centric metropolis of Shenzhen manifest Longgang’s distinctive practice of its “people first” conception. 

This project is not just greening design and landscape improvement for streets linking metro stations. More importantly, it provides a window of opportunity for the construction of a point-line-plane public space system in the core area of Longgang and a valuable exploration of a sustainable eco-city.
